Northern Algodones Dunes Wilderness, Brawley, CA. - One of the largest dune complexes in North America. Still, only a relatively small section north of State Highway 78 has been designated Wilderness, while the rest hosts an abundance of outdoor recreational vehicle traffic. The Wilderness lies divided into two distinct zones: the primary dunes on the west side and the secondary dunes on the east. The former are taller and larger, and composed of noticeably coarse sand. The latter are smaller, made up of finer sands that are periodically shifted even farther east by prevailing winds. The secondary dunes are interrupted in places by basins or flats, where you'll find mesquite, smoke tree, ironwood, paloverde, and desert willows. Streams draining from the nearby Chocolate Mountains to the north flow to the edge of the dunes in spring, and form pools where the sand acts like a dam. The area supports the flat-tailed horned lizard, desert tortoises, and the Colorado fringe-toed lizard. In the fine sands of the secondary dunes, you may see the Andrews dune scarab beetle. As you cross the trailless expanse of the dunes, of course carrying plenty of water, you can be assured of an unforgettable desert experience. {226 miles / 4 Hours 7 Minutes drive from Union Station)

First of all! About 12 years ago My friend Ramon Alfaro (Pictured above) and I (Ollie) were watching a band play I was a bit sad because they were a pretty decent blues combo but were playing at a mostly empty bar. In between sets, the singer/guitar player was complaining about the size of the crowd to another bandmate. Since I was sitting close to the singer Ramon & I mentioned that We had decided to eat in the bar because We liked the music We heard when We were walking by. His face lit up with a big smile and He said, “We need more… errr… people like You guys! It’s nice that You support local artists”. I agreed that it is good to support local businesses and casually asked him how often He checked out other bands. Suddenly his smile went away and he started to mumble something about work, the wife, and the kids… trailing off looking a bit embarrassed .
IN PROCESS is born!!!!
It hit Ramon at that moment that as an independent artist himself, it would make sense that if He expected support it was important to pay it forward in some way. If He could afford to go to a show and donate (Buy Merch) buy something to eat & drink and pay for parking He did. But sometimes He just could not afford it. As a BROKE ARTIST, He wondered how He could help support other independent artists.
I (Ollie The Awesome Possum) said “We could make Visitors aware of upcoming shows and arts events by starting an In Process Facebook Entertainment Page”
Ramon exclaimed, “That’s an awesome idea, but FACEBOOK is For Grandmas!”
“I know, I know… FACEBOOK is for Grandma. But, Hear Me out! By using Facebook & starting an In Process Facebook Entertainment Page We can post links for various things happening in & around Los Angeles to help make it easier for people who are not local to find awesome things to do with an awesome one-stop curated portal for activities! The Southwest, California and Los Angeles is enormous. .. We are IN PROCESS of helping You navigate it. Stop “California Dreaming” and Come Make It Real!!!
And just a wee bit more.

I some times worry about Ollie being too generous and that people will take advantage of him. But then I remember what Hugh Hefner said about Ollie. He really does know a thing or two about a thing or two.
